"Gun control is the idea that it’s better to see a woman dead in an alley, strangled
with her own pantyhose, than to see her with a gun in her hand."—T.D. Melrose

To My Friends in France
by L. Neil Smith
To be absolutely truthful, I don’t know whether I have any friends in France. I’m not even sure I know anyone in France. But I’m writing this open letter to advise all of you who would be my friends if I knew them, that altruism may be very well and good (mind you. I was educated otherwise) but I implore you not to allow strangers into your beautiful country who only want to destroy it. Don’t let them ruin the unique culture that all Americans (perhaps a tiny bit grudgingly) admire.

Rational Security
by J. Neil Schulman
Two of my favorite authors—Robert A Heinlein and Ayn Rand—favored a limited government that would provide an effective national defense against foreign invaders and foreign spies. Rand died March 6, 1982; Heinlein on May 8, 1988—both of them well before domestic terrorism by foreign nationals or immigrants was a major political issue.

Norseman's Diaries: March the Manic Month of Madness
by Jeff Fullerton
Winter Flowers: Good weather still holds on here. Every day so far has turned out better than the original prediction with sun when no sun was in the forecast and no precipitation. We are in a dry pattern because at times it looks like its dying to rain but the rain never comes. That is a mixed blessing because there are no issues with the mucky spots on the lane and yard. But it puts us in a moisture deficit going into spring and of course with the truck laid up I can't take advantage of a golden opportunity to get a head start on bringing in gravel before the April showers.

I’m Tired of This Debate…
by Anon.
I’m mad as hell and I don’t want to take any more, but this will probably do nothing to change the debate. For the record, my opinion is guaranteed to be despised by virtually everyone on both sides. So be it… I believe that women have the right to choose, as a matter of ownership of their own bodies, and as a matter of personal religious freedom.

The Self-Centered Collectivist
by Cathy L.Z. Smith
What distresses me most about the post-modern liberal mindset is its unshakable conviction that the concerns that consume its self- identified members—and I cast no aspersions here for many (though not all) are legitimate, important, and moving—are the only concerns that matter. Their approach to problem-solving insists that only collectivists can concoct a legitimate solution, and that that solution will and must involve the involuntary participation (at the point of a gun is perfectly acceptable) of others. In case I’m being too opaque here, I’m talking about the absurdity of, among other things, “charity” in, and at, the hands of government.
