New York Values
by L. Neil Smith
I confess that I haven't been paying quite as much attention to
this year's General Election festivities as the media (and their advertisers) would
like. I haven't heard a single debate. Between the utter inability of the candidates
to speak to a single issue that's important to me, and the fact that none of them has
promised to reverse a single travesty of the nasty Obama Administration, as a
libertarian, and a human being, I simply don't give a damn who gets the nomination as
long as he or she can grind Hillary Clinton into the mud.
Goodbye Annise Parker
by Sean Gangol
This particular subject that I am writing about is something that
quite literally hits close to home. As I have mentioned before I live in the Houston
area, though I live just outside the city limits (thank God). As far as Houston mayors
go, I can honestly say that I have never been impressed with any of them, going all the
way back to Lee "Out of Town" Brown. Though I can say that Mayor Annise Parker, who just
recently finished her last term, managed to lower the bar that was already pretty low to begin with.
History of Man—Beer and the Wheel

beer and the invention of the wheel.
"Messing With the Constitution"
by Thomas Sowell
In recent years, a small but growing number of people have

the United States. The reaction to the proposal has been hostile, out of all
proportion to either the originality or the danger of such a convention.

We (you know, us) note the passing of the great actor Alan

like every time ya turn around these days somebody has up
and died. And yet the people we could really do without are
alive and well. Damnit.
