MERCHANTS OF DESPAIR: Radical Environmentalists, Criminal
Pseudo-Scientists, and the Fatal Cult of Antihumanism by Robert Zubrin
Reviewed by L. Neil Smith
Few things pain a writer worse than having to inform his readers
that what may easily turn out to be the most important book of the
century -- isn't one of his. The example at hand is Merchants of Despair, by
Robert Zubrin, a name you may recognize. Zubrin is a "big picture" engineer who has
done more than any other single individual to get humanity properly established on
Mars, having earlier written The Case For Mars, which includes his unique
plan, called "Mars Direct" for sending explorers, colonists, and settlement supplies
to the Red Planet at a fraction of the estimated cost of any such undertaking by any
government anywhere. He is also the founder of the Mars Society meant to carry out his plan.
Neale's Weekly Gun Rant, Volume 4
by Neale Osborn
It's nice to see a la-who za-her finally getting back into the
limelight. Jim Carrey, the formerly funny man, has decided that somehow, his former
fame grants his opinions on victim disarmament more relevance, and must therefore be
aired without anyone saying anything derogatory about those opinions. What he has
actually done, with a pathetic rant on "Funny or Die", is that in addition to showing
he doesn't know what the Constitution is about, he proves he is no longer funny. Then,
to make matters worse for himself, he attacked FOX news for pointing out his stupidity
(and taking a pot shot at his former fame). The pathetic has-been, most recently seen
on film as a Chris Angel/David Blaine magician (and doing a bad job of it, I might add)
might just want to shut his mouth on politics, work on his flexibility, and try to get
a role doing what he used to do best -- physical humor. Besides, Canadians have no say
in American politics.
Every mass shooting over last 20 years has one thing in common...and it's not guns
by Mike Adams
Nearly every mass shooting incident in the last twenty
years, and multiple other instances of suicide and isolated shootings all share one thing
in common, and its not the weapons used. The overwhelming evidence points to the signal
largest common factor in all of these incidents is the fact that all of the perpetrators were
either actively taking powerful psychotropic drugs or had been at some point in the immediate
past before they committed their crimes. thoroughly confused.
The National Boycott
by Brian Wright
My column today is a first sketch of a US national movement I am
founding to withhold personal moral, political, and/or economic
sanction from the US federal government (USG) until it ends a modest
number of its most blatant and extreme acts of aggression -- all
unconstitutional -- in three broad categories, to wit....
