A big THANK YOU! goes out to our Readers who stood up and sent-in some support to this here Reader-Supported publication. We couldn't do it without you!

And now, this word:

(Modified by "Goat" from Network written by Paddy Chayefsky)

Howard: I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth. Banks are going bust. Shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there's no one anywhere that seems to know what to do with us. Now into it. We know the air is unfit to breathe, our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had 15 homicides and 63 violent crimes as if that's the way it's supposed to be. We know things are bad. Worse than bad. They're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going crazy so we don't go out anymore. We sit in a house as slowly the world we're living in is getting smaller and all we say is, "Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster, and TV, and my steel belted radials and I won't say anything." Well I'm not going to leave you alone. I want you to get mad. I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot. I don't want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crying in the streets. All I know is first you've got to get mad. You've got to say, "I'm a human being. God Dammit, my life has value." So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out, and yell, "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!" I want you to get up right now. Get up. Go to your windows, open your windows, and stick your head out, and yell, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore! I'm going to support Ron Paul!" Things have got to change my friends. You've got to get mad. You've got to say, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore! I'm going to support Ron Paul!" Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open your window, stick your head out and yell, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore! I'm going to support Ron Paul!"

What he said!

Gun Owners Prevent Crimes;
Anti-Gun Statists Prevent Freedom

by Jim Davidson
There are certain places where gun ownership is reviled, actively opposed by the state, and where stories about gun owners preventing crime are thin on the pages. There are other places where gun ownership is actively supported, not only by limited governmental interference, but also by newsmedia cognizant of the fact that gun owners make a difference every day. There are several inferences which I've drawn from this review.

Truth Loses Again
by Dennis Kabaczy
Last night I watched the GOP debate from South Carolina, specifically to see how Rep. Ron Paul would do, and how he would be treated. Most of the questions were softball, though there were some interesting moments. All in all, for most of the debate, Dr. Paul seemed to be treated no different from the remainder of the candidates. The one point during the debate that set Dr. Paul apart from the others was his statement on why the September eleventh attacks occurred. Though not using theses specific words, Dr. Paul stated it has been our interference in the Middle East and our bombing attacks during the past 10 years.

Al Sharpton: The Worst Kind of Hypocrite
by Jonathan David Morris
So let me get this straight. A couple of weeks ago, Don Imus gets fired for calling the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed ho's." A few weeks later, the same guy who led the anti-Imus charge, Rev. Al Sharpton, refers to Mormon presidential candidate Mitt Romney by saying "those that really believe in God will defeat him." And the media say next to nothing?

Ron Paul, You Can Sign Me Up!
by James Glaser
All I can say is, Thank You Ron Paul. Thank you for telling the truth about the attack on our country back in 2001, and thank you for not backing down to an ignorant Rudy Giuliani.

A Brilliant Idea
by L. Neil Smith
That's what we need, a brilliant idea.

Foundations of Government
by Lady Liberty
The use of a building foundation as a metaphor has been used just about to death, but that's probably because it's both relatively simple and completely appropriate. Let's face the facts: The foundation is integral to the entire structure built above it, and it had better be strong and well made so that subsequent levels don't falter and topple.
